Marta Serafini
Marta is a medicinal chemist proudly coming from Gattinara, a small town famous for its red wine in the hills of Northern Italy. She studied Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology at the Università del Piemonte Orientale (Italy), and obtained her Ph.D. in 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Tracey Pirali, developing compounds for an ultra-rare disease (tubular aggregate myopathy) and IDO1 inhibitors for cancer immunotherapy.
She then moved to the University of Oxford in the group of Prof. Stuart J. Conway in April as a postdoctoral researcher and Junior Research Fellow at Corpus Christi College, Oxford.
In 2025, she received a starting grant from the Italian Cancer Research Association (AIRC) and established her independent lab at the University of Torino.
